Our family spent the evening/night at Saratoga’s First Night! It’s actually the first time we have ever been there despite living in the area and having our own family here for 12 out of the 15 years that First Night has been around! We couldn’t make it to the fireworks, it was just too late for our 6 year old daughter but she did make it to see the ball drop on TV- and then she was out! I think that the date of 1-1-11 is perfect to symbolize new beginnings. 🙂
Below are some images we took throughout the night. There were lots of bands, singers and other art. The little girl getting the balloon animal is our daughter. She’s also seen below on daddy’s shoulders to see the reptiles that was presented at one of the locations. We also saw a Johnny Cash cover band there that were fantastic. The singer really looked and sounded like Johnny Cash! It was definitely a great night. Especially since it was really warm- for December/January in NY!
And when we got home, Ainsley did some art of her own with daddy’s help using the glow sticks she got at First Night!
