It was a very very gorgeous day on Thursday, almost TOO warm, so we took the kiddos to Albany for a little “session”!

After we returned, Chris took Jeremy out for some sunset shots- James didn’t want to go!!

If you don't know us, Sawicki Studios is a husband & wife team with me (Jen!) and Chris. Our studio is located in Amsterdam, NY, but we serve the entire Capital Region from Albany to Saratoga Springs, NY. Chris specializes in High School Senior portraits, we both photograph weddings together and now do only a limited amount of baby/children/family portraits to try to keep up with the demand of our growing senior portrait and wedding business.
Chris is a master of lighting. His images are always way out of the box, cinematic and unlike anything you've ever seen. He is without a doubt a photographic "Rockstar" in this area! I like using as much natural lighting as possible, staying simple, yet beautiful, clean and timeless. This is why we make such a dynamic team! For more about us and our work, view the website at www.sawickistudios.com.

We have the flu among us! It seems that most of us are on the mend so this week we will be vehemently trying to play catch up! We apologize to anyone who is waiting on anything from us including any blog sneak peeks, or proofs. We will be contacting everyone and updating everything that has fallen behind this week! Thank you for your patience!!
I decided I really wanted some moody images of my daughter around our studio building with her blanket that she LOVES and my old doll that I loved as a child. Chris and I took and there to implement my visions. The images came out exactly how I wanted!!

Well, I can honestly say we have never been busier than we are right now! I haven’t been updating the blog after every job we do lately because between Chris’ maxed out schedule with seniors and everything else, weddings, and my sessions, it is impossible to keep up! The sad part is, we haven’t really had any “family time”. Finding that balance is certainly on the priority list for sure. Tonight we took a little time out to get some shots of the kiddos. Unfortunately we hardly ever photograph them anymore. It saddens me so much, but you know what they say- the shoemakers kids have no shoes!! Taking out the camera used to be so natural and fun. It’s now a job, so it’s taken on a whole new roll. I look through the lens as an artist and professional, not a mom. The difference is night and day. When Jeremy and James were babies, I took SOOOO many snapshots. I mean, every second I was taking a picture. With Ainsley, I was starting my career journey right before she was born, so her first year was spent “practicing”. Unfortunately with that, it basically left me with hardly any snapshots, and some poor attempts at “professional” shots! I was getting better towards the end of her first year, though! So here they are! (and obviously Ainsley eats the camera right up! The boys are quite a bit less interested in getting photographed!)
Rock on!!!!
One that Chris took!
