February 14, 2010SOOOO happy that Hannah’s Hope reached their goal of $500,000 that was being matched by Ms. Doris Buffett’s Sunshine Lady Foundation. When I think about how awful and helpless it must feel if your child has a rare disorder that has little research done on it, I would certainly do all that I could to raise what is needed to help find a cure. Hannah’s family did an amazing job getting the word out and raising such a wonderful amount. I hope that the fundraising continues and they find that cure!!
Raspberry Snap is here!!
January 15, 2010New studio is almost finished! To help “break it in” so to speak, I am going to begin reserving appointment times for the Raspberry Snap service! So far, I will be doing 3 days in March- March 7th, 13th, and 21st. These will be done with white backdrop with colorful elements for a fun theme to start spring! There will be various items that may or may not be used in your portraits, it’s up to you! There are very limited spots for this but I hope to do at least one of these sessions per month after these first 3. First, I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas/Holiday!!! I of course was sick. 
I say of course because I always seem to be on Christmas!!!) For the New Year, I will certainly be lining up a series of Raspberry Snap sessions. (http://www.sawickistudios.com/raspberrysnap) These are going to be GREAT and I am very excited about it! Our new studio addition is still under construction, so I will begin planning them as soon as things get back to normal (so to speak!) However, we will be doing the “Family Model Search” sessions after the new year. What is the “Family Model Search”?! Last year Sawicki Studios participated in the International Charity Children’s Model Search and it was a GREAT success! This year we are participating again but this time it is for families. North America’s Cutest Family will be raising funds for the non-profit Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation (NILMDTS.org)

MODEL SEARCH SPECIAL
$30 entrance fee includes an up to 20 minute session and one image submitted to the national gallery. You may purchase any of the images for specially priced prints & packages. If you’ve had or are planning to have a regular family session between the dates of November 1st 2009 and April 5th 2010, you may opt to submit an image from the session into the contest at no additional cost.
Finalists will be determined by online votes. Each vote is $1 (no limit on the amount of votes you can cast), and all proceeds from votes benefit Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS.org).
Grand prize international winner will be determined from the 52 city finalists. The winners will be selected from the finalist gallery by photography and modeling industry experts. The winning family also receives a session with the renowned portrait artist Sandy Puc’ and international recognition.

Beware!! (a scam we were chosen to be a part of)
December 3, 2009So it appears that we are being used for a scam. Someone is preying on models by sending them a “job” and linking them to our site to show “their” portfolio. It is from the email address “sawickiphotoservice@gmail.com” We found out because one of the models called us to find out if we were offering a legit job. Here is one of the emails they sent her (complete with bad grammar):
“It’s really nice reading back from you and here are more information about the assignment is a $1500 pay Fashion job (Assignment) for you, My client wants to update her Catalog with her new year release Fashion outfits and to host one of the 2010 model event with her new fashion from Malaysia.this assignment is to encourage the upcoming models in the industry she is affiliated with the Academy Art,you don’t have to be worried about your experience or present look because we have specialist stylist and make Up artist who will bring the real beauty out of you,I’m a professional photographer/Manager with 8 years experience and this is 100% legit here is my website: www.sawickistudios.com). The shooting will be hold at a rented photographers studio in your location,so you don’t have to worry about traveling,the name and address of the studio will be forwarded to you a week before the date of the shooting,all make up will be taken care of in the studio.You can come along with any body of your choice on the day of the shooting,your mum,dad,friend,body-guard anybody you wish to come with just for you to feel more comfortable.

We are now getting hits from our site from email inboxes from all different states which must be from this. If anyone gets one of these or know anyone who did, this is a SCAM and is NOT from us!!! Or if you get this same thing with someone claiming to be a different photographer/studio, do not fall for it! Scams are VERY rampant this day in age. Protect yourself!

October 21, 2009So much, OK TOO much, is going on here at Sawicki Studios! (way behind on updating the blog, so I apologize for that!) I will be doing a few different blog posts within the next few weeks to update everyone and to announce some great things we have coming up. For now, I am happy to announce our studio expansion! We will be turning our current studio into our consultation and viewing room, and upstairs with be the studio. We will certainly post some images when things are finished!
On Tuesday,October 6th, we had the privilege of participating in this years annual Women’s Night Out organized by Ellis Hospital to support the Bellevue Woman’s Care Center. in the 2009 WPPI 8 x 10 1st Half Print Competition
Chris Sawicki of Amsterdam, NY, has received special honors in the WEDDING & PORTRAIT
PHOTOGRAPHERS INTERNATIONAL (WPPI) 2009 WPPI 8 x 10 1st Half Print Competition. Designed to recognize outstanding photographers, the judging was held in Culver City, CA on June, 2009.
“The Reverand” received an Accolade of Excellence in the Individual category. This is the second year in a row that he has received this award. In 2008, he received this honor for his print entitled “Waiting” in the Bride Alone category.
Sawicki competed against an international field of photographers to win such honors.
The WPPI 8 x 10 1st Half Print Competition awards are presented each year at the largest trade show, educational platform and convention in the United States for professional photographers. Sawicki Studios (specifically children’s portraiture by Jennifer) will be participating in the National Charity Model Search to select “America’s Cutest Kid” and to raise funds for charity.
We’re looking for cute children ages 18 months to 14 years old to model for a portrait to be entered into the contest.
Models Search Special:
$30 entrance fee, which includes a 20 minute model session and one image submitted to the national gallery. So far the available dates are January 16, 30 and 31 and February 6, 13, 20, 21, 27, 28. Update: Most of the spots are filled (as expected!) but I can squeeze a few more in. Sessions need to be done by March 1st.
Finalists will be determined by online votes. Anyone may vote. Each vote is $1, and all proceeds from votes benefit the non-profit Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. (NILMDTS.org) Grand prize national winner will be determined from the 50 city finalists. Winners selected by photography and modeling industry experts. If your child is selected the national winner, you’ll receive many prizes, including a $5,000 US Savings Bond and a Canon PowerShot G10 digital camera.
