WASHINGTON D.C., March 20, 2009 — For the second consecutive year, Sawicki Studios has been selected for the 2009 Best of Amsterdam Award in the Wedding Photographers category by the U.S. Local Business Association (USLBA).

The USLBA “Best of Local Business” Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USLBA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.

Nationwide, only 1 in 70 (1.4%) 2008 Award recipients qualified as 2009 Award Winners. Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2009 USLBA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USLBA and data provided by third parties.

Had a beautiful mother and son today! Little “S” was so full of energy and hamming it up for the camera, but I’m so glad he had fun! It was great working with them!

I think I may be slacking on keeping up the blog, but honestly it is increasingly becoming impossible to keep up!! Here are some more “Star for a Day” clients, and a few others. The first two were taken today of a High School student who will be job shadowing Chris for a while. He wasn’t prepared for being photographed, but I love the way they came out anyhow!!

My Daughter {Concept}

March 5, 2009

I decided I really wanted some moody images of my daughter around our studio building with her blanket that she LOVES and my old doll that I loved as a child. Chris and I took and there to implement my visions. The images came out exactly how I wanted!!

Chris has been so busy with people coming in for the “Star for a Day” sessions. In fact, we’ve both been so busy that I am combining a few from all 4 recent sessions into this one blog because I haven’t been able to post a blog after each session!

The sessions for the children’s contest has come to a close.  SO many beautiful children!! The last contestant was 13 so although I missed the opportunity to work with her, I am so glad it worked out that Chris did her session because older children and adults are absolutely his specialty- and not mine!!
