The Gazette!!!

November 15, 2009

We (mostly Chris!) were featured in the Schenectady Daily Gazette today! It was a great article and so pleased to be a part of it. Here are a few shots of the paper all over my floor!

They also said that the above image was Kate Costello, but it is not! They just used one of the images Chris had given them, and I guess thought it was Kate!

Though I was very disappointed in the part mentioning Chris “has broken into a lot of spaces that he probably shouldn’t have.” I must reiterate that this is not something he does “a lot” and he does not “break in” as in kicking in doors or climbing through windows as I feel that part of the article portrayed. (she specifically asked, he answered, but not in those words!) He makes sure the areas are safe, and already open and takes a chance. Surely if it was closed off, unsafe or posted no-trespassing, he would not go in. I felt it was important to say this as this is not what Chris is all about. He’s about going to various places, using his amazing lighting skills will studio lighting (that he brings everywhere!) and making any location look AMAZING. Even if to the normal person, it looks much, much less than ideal.

Featured Family!

November 12, 2009

We are going to be launching a new portrait site (for families, babies, & children) within the next few days. One thing we are going to start doing on the new site is have a “featured” section. The “B” family will be the first! The mom of this beautiful family, Abbey, owns and operates “Body & Soul Healing Arts” provides massage therapy and healing arts modalities. http://bodyandsoulhealingarts.vpweb.com/ Here is just a peak of their images from their session. There will be a few more on the new site!!

The “Catch-up” Blog!

November 12, 2009

I have figured out that being out of commission for even a short amount of time brings on a very tough game of catch-up! I would really like to keep all sessions in their own blogs, but it is so hard as there are just far too many!!! (not that I’m complaining!) The studio expansion is coming along, though I must say it was a risky decision doing this during the season of holiday portraits! Everything just seems like it’s in such disarray. I will be posting a blog with images of the finished product when it’s done. We can’t wait! So here we have children, babies, families, seniors, engagements, trash the dress, CHI promotion and Beech-Nuts grand opening  images all rolled up into one big blog! And one more announcement- we’ll be in the Gazette for a featured article in the Sunday paper, so be sure to pick one up!!!!

And the commercial stuff!

On Thursday, I was on my laptop (as I always am) and heard the news in the background say that we lost the first female soldier from the capital region who was serving in Iraq. I was even more shocked when I heard her name, looked up and saw that it was the sister of one of our 2009 brides. I didn’t know Amy very well, but I could certainly tell just from working with her at her sister’s wedding that she had a very sweet spirit about her. My heart goes out to her husband and family. Please keep them in your thoughts during this very difficult time.

To read some more about Amy’s story and what a true hero she was, here are a few websites with the story:

Courtney + Josh

November 7, 2009

The day was perfection! Beautiful day, short ceremony, plenty of time for the formals, and timed perfectly with the sunset. Not to mention the bride and groom were AWESOME! And despite the fact that almost all the leaves are off the trees, it was still a beautiful scene on the lake. Reception was at Dunham Bay Resort in Lake George. Everything went so smoothly and was planned wonderfully. (and I have to mention, the food was superb!) Without further ado, here’s Courtney & Josh!!!

And because the groom and his groomsmen are in a metal band and made a request Chris was VERY excited to do, I give you the groomsmen zombies!!!
