Wedding FAQ
How long have you been doing this?
We've both been photographing weddings since May 2007!
How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?
We will have some samples up the next day so that you can get a little sneak peek (unless of course, you don't want us to!). Our editing process typically takes 6-8 weeks during the busy season. We prioritize quality and attention to detail to deliver exceptional images that exceed your expectations, so we try not to rush, although we totally understand the anticipation of receiving all of your final images!
Are you insured?
Absolutely! We are insured with both the PPA (Professional Photographers of America) and Hiscox Business Insurance. We can provide a certificate if one is needed for your venue, but please let us know as soon as possible as it may take some time to have one customized for your venue.
What is included in wedding coverage?
Wedding coverages all include the coverage of the event with your chosen amount of hours, and all of the edited, high-resolution, unwatermarked images (plus a b+w version of each) that you can download through your password-protected online gallery. Everything else is available as add-ons so that you can customize your own collection from the ground up to best suit your needs, This way, you only get what you REALLY want!
What are in the add-on options?
We currently have albums such as coffee table albums, storybook albums, parent albums, and custom USB & box set for the item choices, and for services we have add-on hours & engagement sessions. We may add on or make changes to our options, but whatever is available upon booking will still be available to you if any changes do occur.
Can we see the full pricing?
Absolutely! Reach out to us to see if we are available on your wedding date, and if we are, we can send you information that includes the price guide plus a whole lot more!
How many images will we receive?
We produce around 100 edited images per hour of coverage plus a black & white version of each. A typical 8 hour coverage will have at least 800-1000 different images not including the black & white. We don't set any limits, so we only leave out the images that have blinking, someone walking in the way of the shot, random test shots, etc. Everything else is edited and included!
Do you take any candid shots?
YES, LOTS! We know that we tend to showcase the more epic, polished, cinematic-type photos on our website & social media, but the majority of what we take at weddings is the candid, natural moments & details as they unfold. Formal photos only take up a small percentage of what we do! You can see some of our favorite candid moments in our portfolio!
Do you do your own editing?
Yes! We do not outsource any of our editing and everything we do here at Sawicki Studios is all done by us alone!
What is required to book you for our wedding?
We require a retainer and completed contract to lock you into our calendar and then the day is all yours!
Do you have back-up equipment?
For sure! We have multiple of everything just in case anything decides to give us some trouble. Our cameras all have dual card slots as well so that if one card fails, another has a copy of all of the images that were taken.
Will we get the copyrights?
Copyright simply means that we are the original creators of the works we produce and that no one else can claim them as their own intellectual property nor can they sell, alter or give any other permissions regarding those works. This is why we retain the legal "copyrights". We do, however, give all clients explicit permission to post/use & print their images to their heart's content for themselves and to distribute to their friends and family!
Do you do other events on the same day?
Never! Even if it's a smaller event, we only do one event per day. Full attention to each event stays that way all day long, as this keeps us focused and in the flow for optimal creativity and tailoring to our clients on that day. Also, that would be quite tiring and we like to be on our best game!
Can we see a full gallery?
Yes, absolutely!! If you'd like to see one, let us know and we will send you the link and password to view one! If we have worked at your venue previously, we'd be happy to show you one from that venue.
We're very awkward in front of the camera, how can you help?
We know the feeling, we aren't a fan of getting our pictures taken either and are COMPLETELY awkward on the other side of the camera! What we do is guide you into natural interactions with each other, and if things are too intense, we'll have you make jokes with each other or crack one ourselves- anything to break to awkwardness and have you fall into just feeling joyous in the moment.
Do you travel?
Absolutely! Travel to locations that are significantly far from our location will require a customized travel fee based on distance, whether or not a stay overnight is required, etc.
How many weddings do you do a year?
We currently try to limit to around 20-25 weddings per year as well feel that this helps us give our clients and their images more detailed attention.
Do you always photograph weddings together?
Most of the time, YES! With 8+ hours of coverage, we offer two photographers which is usually the both of us!
Portrait FAQ
What types of photography services do you offer?
Although we specialize in wedding photography, we offer a wide range of portrait photography services, including senior portraits, family portraits, children portraits, maternity portraits, engagements, event photography, commercial photography, and more.
What is the difference between regular session and a mini-Session?
A regular session can be done at any location and at any time and we take as long as we need to! A mini-session is something we offer on specific dates and specific locations only a few times a year and last for 15 minutes. We do still get a lot of great stuff in that time, but if you know your children need time to warm up, or you will have many people or combinations in the photo session, or would like your session done at a certain location, then a regular session would be better suited for you.
What do sessions include?
All sessions include the edited, high-resolution, unwatermarked images available for you to download from your password-protected online gallery. You also have the option to purchase prints and other items from your gallery if you wish. Sessions will have at least 100 different final images plus a black and white version of each. (We don't set any limits!)
Can I book a mini-session at any time?
We only offer mini-sessions a few times of year on specific days and specific locations. If you would really like a mini-session, sign-up for our newsletter to be notified as soon as we announce the date & location of any mini-session events!
Do you do newborn photography?
Although we have done newborn photography in the past (mainly Jen) and still do some on occasion, mostly for previous wedding clients when incorporated into family portraits (lifestyle portrait style), we strongly feel as though newborn photography in itself requires a great skill, expertise and preparation, which includes adequate props, that we just do not possess at this time. We would, however, be happy to give you some recommendations!
How do I book a photography session?
Booking a photography session is easy- simply reach out to us through our website, email, or phone, and let us know the type of session you're interested in. ("Contact Us" button is below!) We'll guide you through the process, discuss your requirements, and find a convenient location, date and time for your session!
Can we choose the location for our photo shoot?
How long does a typical photo session last?
The duration of a photo session varies depending on the type and scope of the project. Portrait sessions typically range from 30 minutes to an hour, while events and weddings can span several hours. We strive to provide ample time to make sure we've captured optimal images for you.
How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?
We understand the anticipation of seeing your final photos. Our editing process for portrait sessions typically takes 1-2 weeks, depending on the volume of images and the complexity of editing required. We prioritize quality and attention to detail to deliver exceptional images that exceed your expectations!
What happens if the weather is unfavorable on the day of an outdoor shoot?
Will I get the copyrights of the photos?
Copyright simply means that we are the original creators of the works we produce and that no one else can claim them as their own intellectual property nor can they sell, alter or give any other permissions regarding those works. This is why we retain the legal "copyrights". We do, however, give all clients explicit permission to post/use & print their images to their heart's content for themselves and to distribute to their friends and family!
