Portrait FAQ

What types of photography services do you offer?

Although we specialize in wedding photography, we do offer a wide range of portrait photography services, including senior portraits, family portraits, children portraits, maternity portraits, engagements, event photography, commercial photography, and more. Chris actually began his career doing senior portraits and it has remained one of his specialties! See the senior portrait gallery HERE!

What do sessions include?

All sessions include the edited, high-resolution, unwatermarked images available for you to download from your password-protected online gallery. You also have the option to purchase prints and other items from your gallery if you wish. Sessions will have at least 100 different final images plus a black and white version of each. (We don't set any limits!)

What is the difference between regular session and a mini-Session?

A regular session can be done at any location and at any time and we take as long as we need to! A mini-session is something we offer on specific dates and specific locations only a few times a year and last for 15 minutes. We do still get a lot of great stuff in that time, but if you know your children need time to warm up, or you will have many people or combinations in the photo session, or would like your session done at a certain location, then a regular session would be better suited for you.

Can I book a mini-session at any time?

We only offer mini-sessions a few times of year on specific days and specific locations. If you would really like a mini-session, sign-up for our newsletter to be notified as soon as we announce the date & location of any mini-session events! You can find the newsletter sign-up form under the "Services" part of our menu.

Do you do newborn photography?

Although we have done newborn photography in the past (mainly Jen) and still do some on occasion, mostly for previous wedding clients when incorporated into family portraits (lifestyle portrait style), we strongly feel as though newborn photography in itself requires a great skill, expertise and preparation, which includes adequate props, that we just do not possess at this time. We would, however, be happy to give you some recommendations!

How do I book a photography session?

Booking a photography session is easy- simply reach out to us through our website, email, or phone, and let us know the type of session you're interested in. ("Contact Us" button is below!) We'll guide you through the process, discuss your requirements, and find a convenient location, date and time for your session!

Can we choose the location for our photo shoot?

How long does a typical photo session last?

Absolutely! We believe that the location plays a significant role in capturing unique and personalized photographs. Whether it's at your home, a scenic outdoor location, or a venue of your choice, we're open to capturing your portraits in a place that holds meaning to you. We would also be happy to discuss locations to give input on what we think would be best for optimal portraits and make a decision together.

If a particular location requires some type of reservation or fee, this would need to be arranged & paid for by you. If the location is far, it may require a travel fee.

The duration of a photo session varies depending on the type and scope of the project. Portrait sessions typically range from 30 minutes to an hour, while events and weddings can span several hours. We strive to provide ample time to make sure we've captured optimal images for you and will not cut it short until we are confident we got amazing images!

How long does it take to receive our photos?

We totally understand the anticipation of seeing your final photos! Our editing process for portrait sessions typically takes 1-2 weeks, depending on the volume of images, the complexity of editing required and time of year (September & October are our busiest months and may take longer). We prioritize quality and attention to detail to deliver exceptional images that exceed your expectations!

What happens if the weather is unfavorable on the day of an outdoor shoot?

If the weather doesn't cooperate on the day of an outdoor shoot, we can discuss alternatives such as rescheduling the session or finding an indoor location. We want to ensure the best possible outcome for your photos, and we're flexible in adapting to unforeseen circumstances.

Will I get the copyrights of the photos?

Copyright simply means that we are the original creators of the works we produce and that no one else can claim them as their own intellectual property nor can they sell, alter or give any other permissions regarding those works. This is why we retain the legal "copyrights". We do, however, give all clients explicit permission to post/use & print their images to their heart's content for themselves and to distribute to their friends and family!
